Whetu homework challenge
In Whetu, the teachers set us a homework challenge, we had to create something out of a block of polystyrene. I made the batcave. I got the idea, because I really like batman. I really wanted to make a bat light too, so I cut a big hole and put a flashlight in, which made a bat light. My Mum and Dad helped me, because I used a soldering iron to cut into the polystyrene.
I cut a bat shape into it and spray painted it blue and black, I then cut stairs and put a fireman pole into it for Batman to slide down.
I think mine ended up looking really good and I am happy with it. When I saw the finished products of my classmates, I quite liked Logan's, because it was a really cool dinosaur head. I also thought Jesse’s ship was cool, I thought Storms was quite good to, because her spongebob looked really good. Here is the finished product of my art:
Cross country 2016
On Monday the 22nd, I was running through the mud. I ran up the final hill and reached the top of the last hill. In case you haven't guessed yet, I was doing Cross Country, and I was having a great time. I came 8th place, but didn't make it into Cross Country. I tried really hard and did my best. My training helped me get a bit faster for Cross Country and prepared me for it. I really enjoy doing cross country!!
My Speech 2016
This year my speech is about David Bowie, who is my idol. I chose this topic for my speech because I am very passionate about David Bowie and have a lot of information about him, eg books and magazines. Because of this, I enjoyed researching by looking through my items. I found it in between hard and easy,
because sometimes it took a while to find the thing I was looking for,and sometimes I just knew what it was. I did not change my topic because I was comfortable with what I was doing. I am feeling confident and a tiny bit nervous about presenting. I think the hardest part was organizing my speech and putting it together.
