My art post

Hi in this post I'll tell you about my penguin lino art and how I made it.

  • The first thing I did was  draw out a penguin  and after a few tries I got it just right.
  • I drew  it out  again but on good paper.
  • Next  I used dark pencils to go over the lines.
  • Then I pinned  it to a square of lino and coloured it in with the dark pencil.
  • It took a long time but finally I had finished (my arm was VERY sore.) Once I finished  I saw it imprinted on the lino, then I went over it with a normal pencil.
  •  Then began the lino cutting...
it was fun to lino cut but sometimes your finger scrapped across the lino and that REALLY hurt. I cut out some of my background.

  • Then I made two prints, one was blue, the other was yellow.
  • After those prints I went back to cutting lino out and after cutting out most of my background I printed it.
IT LOOKED AWESOME!
Then I went to Adelaide, when I went back I saw my teacher (Miss Sixsmith.) had made made it black,it looked even cooler like a real penguin! I really enjoyed making lino art,it was some new art for me to try out and I think it is a real  cool idea for art.
